The Department has the following tasks:
1. Training
- Advise and develop training development strategies for majors and fields of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering
- Draft and submit to the Principal for signature and promulgation under authority or preparation for the Principal to submit regulations, rules and projects related to the training work of the School to the superior management agency
- Coordinate with other departments and faculties in the School to research and propose to the School's Board of Directors on the development of training programs in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Advise and assist the School's Principal in developing enrollment targets and plans for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mechanical and Automotive fields according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi University of Industry;
- Develop training plans, schedules, and timetables for classes in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Be the focal department for synthesizing, organizing, compiling, appraising, self-evaluating and improving training programs in Mechanical and Automotive fields
- Organize the work of compiling, appraising, evaluating, accepting, selecting, approving textbooks, reference documents, and learning materials for the School's training programs;
- Issue certificates and learning result tables to learners according to the hierarchy;
- Advise and assist the School Principal in managing, organizing, implementing, and inspecting the implementation of regulations, rules, instructions, and plans of Hanoi University of Industry and the School on organizing, managing, and implementing training in Mechanical and Automotive fields
- Synthesize and prepare periodic and sudden reports on the scale, structure of training levels, structure of occupations, learning outcomes of students and teaching outcomes of lecturers to serve the management work of the School;
- Organize the development and implementation of the assessment of teaching results of lecturers; check statistical reports and confirm the teaching volume of lecturers for payment according to the regime;
- Organize the search and coordinate with other departments and faculties in the School to propose joint training programs in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Build and develop the Department's quality assurance system in accordance with the School's general quality assurance system.
2. Science and Technology
- Advise and build strategies for developing the School's science and technology activities;
- Coordinate with other departments and faculties in the School to research and propose to the School's leaders on developing science and technology activities in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Chair and coordinate to organize scientific conferences and seminars in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Develop and organize the implementation of scientific research plans and technology transfer in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Be the focal department for synthesizing, organizing appraisal, evaluation, and acceptance of works, projects, scientific research topics, scientific and technological projects at all levels and textbooks in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Organize the search and coordinate with other departments and faculties in the School to propose joint research programs, scientific research topics and projects and apply scientific research results in Mechanical and Automotive fields.
3. Student supports
- Develop and organize the implementation of programs and plans on political and ideological education for students;
- Advise the Principal on the assessment of student training;
- Chair the organization of dialogues between the School and students; grasp the ideological situation of students;
- Manage the student database;
- Advise the Principal and resolve administrative procedures, policies for students and class management;
- Be the focal contact for alumni and students. Comprehensively manage information on alumni and students; mobilize funding from alumni and students for the activities of the School.
4. Examination and quality assurance
- Research and propose learning outcome assessment plans suitable for the training requirements of the School's majors and training levels;
- Research, develop, and submit to the Principal for promulgation of regulations on compiling exam questions and forms of exams, tests, and assessments; Chair and coordinate with relevant departments and faculties to organize and manage the exam question bank system and exam question bank for each subject and module;
- Collect statistics and reports on examination work according to the requirements of Hanoi University of Industry, the School and competent authorities according to regulations;
- Advise the School Principal to organize the management system and ensure the quality of education of the School in accordance with the Mechanical and Automotive fields.
- Chair the development and coordination of the implementation of self-assessment plans for the quality of education in the School according to national and international quality assessment standards.
- Coordinate with the Center for Quality Assurance of Hanoi University of Industry and external assessment teams to organize and implement the assessment of the quality of education of the School's fields according to national and international standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Center of Hanoi University of Industry to conduct surveys and polls of relevant parties on the activities of the University; synthesize, analyze and report data on educational quality assurance work as required by Hanoi University of Industry, the School and competent authorities.
