1. Overview of the Smart Manufacturing and Technology Research Center
* The Center includes the Laboratory System for Industry 4.0 with the function of researching, developing science and technology, conducting training courses to provide high-quality human resources, ensuring to meet the needs of businesses, markets and society.
* The laboratory system includes full solutions to meet the requirements of product design and development, mold manufacturing, design and export of product data for 3D printers, digitizing manufacturing plants, planning and operating production, connecting automation and collecting cloud computing data (IoT) in line with the technology trend of Industry 4.0.
* With the configuration and functions of the center, the laboratory system will create conditions for students to have the opportunity to be exposed to the achievements of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution as well as access to the concepts of smart factories, digital factories - where machines and equipment will be connected, data from different systems will be exchanged smoothly, data from systems will be analyzed to be able to build production and product supply plans. The ecosystem of 4.0 technologies will enhance the research environment and creativity for students, helping students absorb and grasp the development trends of the actual production environment to ensure a close connection between training and the use of labor resources of businesses.
2. Introduction of 5 Zones
2.1. Zone1- Design and develop product
The Center provides with computer systems, internal network connection systems and software for product design (NX, Solid Edge), simulation analysis and optimization of product design (using simulation software solutions including Simcenter 3D, Nastran solver, Samcef solver, Star-CCM++ fluid dynamics simulation software, Simcenter Amesim system simulation calculation software), vibration and noise testing equipment, integrating Teamcenter product lifecycle management (PLM) software for data management, BOM management, process management and planning management.
2.2. Zone2 – Molds and 3D printing
The Center includes a computer system with internal network connection and NX software for designing molds (NX Mold wizard Modules), stamping molds (NX die design and Die engineering Modules), progressive die design (NX progressive die design Modules), electrode design (NX eletrode design Modules), plastic injection molding simulation (Easyfill Advance Modules), single-step stamping simulation (One Step analysis module), CAM programming for CNC milling machines from 2.5 to 5 axes (NX CAM mill Modules), CNC turning programming (NX turning), combined milling and turning programming (using milling and turning tools in combination with NX), wire cutting programming (Wire EDM module), integrated Teamcenter product lifecycle management (PLM) software for data management, BOM management, process management and planning management.
2.3. Zone3 - Digitalizing the manufacturing plant
The Center has a computer system with an internal network connection and software to digitalize the manufacturing plant, including software of simulation of the manufacturing process (Tecnomatix Plant Simulation), simulation of the production line with components such as robots, humans (Tecnomatix Processimulate and Robot Expert) and provides with planning tools (Opcenter APS), production planning and execution management (MES), product lifecycle management tools Teamcenter (PLM) and Polarion application software lifecycle management (ALM).
2.4. Zone 4 – Basic automation and drive
The Center provides with a set of programming tools, SCADA interface design, connection and data transfer to the cloud. The Center is equipped with basic PLC automation hardware and software, HMI/SCADA production monitoring and management system that allows programming, installation, management and monitoring of all operating states and parameters of the devices.
2.5. Zone 5 – Advanced Automation and Drive
The Center provides with a set of programming tools for complex process control systems that require high safety, have a distributed control structure (Distributed Control System), and can simulate the entire control process of the system, production line, and assembly. The Center is equipped with modern advanced automation equipment with high redundancy mechanisms and in-depth advanced programming, which are used in practice for large production systems for industrial plants, mechanical assembly factories, etc.
