Mechatronics Engineering Technology
1. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering Technology are for the graduates to achieve the following within a few years of graduation, as described below:
PEO 1: Graduates will have fully fundamental engineering, science, and mathematics principles to meet the needs of acquiring major knowledge, as well as the ability to study at a higher level.
PEO 2: Graduates will use both fundamental and specialized knowledge of the mechatronics field to recognize, analyze, and resolve issues related to design, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance for products and mechatronics systems in industrial manufacturing.
PEO 3: Graduates will use critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, and teamwork skills to function effectively in multidisciplinary, multicultural, and multinational work environments.
PEO 4: Graduates will have an understanding of economics, politics, law, contemporary issues, and social science knowledge that is appropriate for their major to contribute to the sustainable development of society and the community.
2. Student Outcomes (SOs)
SO 1: An ability to build models, simulate, and analyze the mechatronics systems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
SO 2: An ability to apply both fundamental and specialized knowledge, along with modern tools to compute and design mechatronic systems;
SO 3: An ability to install, operate, maintain and resolve arising technical issues for the mechatronic systems; produce solutions that meet specified efficiency and quality needs for the manufacturing process.
SO 4: An ability to communicate in English at 3rd level according to the standard of the 6-level Foreign Language Competency Framework.
SO 5: An ability to organize and function effectively as a member as well as a leader in teamwork activities.
SO 6: An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in well-defined technical and non-technical environments.
SO 7: A recognition of the need for, and the ability to engage in life-long learning.
SO 8: An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility;
SO 9: An ability to recognize technological tendency considering the development context of enterprise, environment, society, and global;
SO 10: An understanding of politics, law and contemporary issues.
3.CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Students after graduation can work in sectors as below:
- Operate and supervise the production; exploit, maintain and resolve issues related to manufacturing line and equipment of mechatronics field.
- Design, develop products, build manufacturing and production processes related to mechatronics systems;
- Programme, process and analyze data for mechatronics systems
- Receive and transfer mechatronics technology;
- Organize, manage and direct the production at mechatronics enterprises.
- Consult mechatronics technique and equipment businesses.
- Teach and research at training establishments, centers, research institutes related to mechatronics engineering.
