School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI promotes cooperation with Department of Science and Technology of Bac Ninh province and the mechanical engineering business community

On the morning of August 6, 2026, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Ninh province, Bac Ninh mechanical engineering enterprises association, and representatives of its member enterprises. The working session provided an opportunity for the parties to strengthen connections, exchange cooperation needs, and reach agreement on development orientations in human resource training, scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation to serve enterprises.

Attending the working session, on behalf of Hanoi University of Industry were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice President of Hanoi University of Industry; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering; together with members of the School's Board of Management and representatives of the leadership of faculties, offices, and centers under the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.

On behalf of the Bac Ninh province were Mr. Duong Dai Lam, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Bac Ninh province; Mr. Vu Tan Phu, representative of Bac Ninh Union of Science and Technology Associations and Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh mechanical engineering enterprises association; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Alpha Vietnam Company and Chairman of the Bac Ninh mechanical engineering enterprises association, together with leaders of many representative mechanical engineering enterprises in the province.

In his welcoming remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong expressed his pleasure at welcoming the leaders of the Department of Science and Technology and the mechanical engineering business community of Bac Ninh province to visit and work at Hanoi University of Industry. Giving an overview of the University's development process, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong emphasized HaUI's outstanding strengths in engineering training, applied research, technology transfer, and its innovation ecosystem. At the same time, he affirmed that strengthening the connection between the University, state management agencies, and enterprises is an important orientation to improve training quality, develop high-quality human resources, and promote the commercialization of scientific research outcomes.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Duong Dai Lam, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Ninh province, highly appreciated the reputation, training capacity, as well as the scientific research and technology transfer potential of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering in particular and Hanoi University of Industry in general. According to Mr. Duong Dai Lam, Bac Ninh is currently one of the country's dynamic industrial development centers, with an increasing demand for high-quality human resources, advanced technologies, and technical solutions serving production. Establishing and developing a close cooperative relationship among the Department of Science and Technology, local mechanical engineering enterprises, and the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI, will open up many opportunities to implement applied research tasks and address practical technological challenges faced by enterprises.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the Bac Ninh mechanical engineering enterprises association, most of the association's member organizations are eager to connect with higher education institutions in key areas, including human resource training, scientific research, and technology transfer. He expressed his hope that Hanoi University of Industry would accompany enterprises throughout the process — from identifying practical technical problems and seeking research solutions to putting research results into production lines.

During the discussion session, representatives of the parties focused on clarifying cooperation needs and potential in various fields, particularly:

- Connecting enterprises' recruitment needs with the University's training activities; organizing internship programs, practical experience activities, and professional skills development for students.

- Coordinating the development and implementation of provincial-level science and technology research projects; conducting research to solve technical problems, improve productivity, and optimize production processes at enterprises.

- Strengthening technology transfer, technical consulting, and support for enterprises in technological innovation, digital transformation, and production automation.

- Effectively utilizing the modern laboratory system, research centers, and practice centers of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering to serve testing, inspection, measurement, and prototype manufacturing activities.

- Promoting training and professional development programs for high-quality technical human resources to meet the development needs of mechanical engineering enterprises in the new period.

The working session took place in an open and frank atmosphere and achieved many positive results. The discussions between the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Ninh province, and the Bac Ninh mechanical engineering enterprises association not only contributed to strengthening cooperation among the parties but also opened up opportunities to effectively promote the University - Government - Enterprise linkage model.

The outcomes of the working session will serve as an important basis for the functional units of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and its partners to further concretize the cooperation into practical programs and projects in the coming period, contributing to improving training quality, promoting applied research, and advancing innovation and technology transfer activities to serve the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.
