Within the framework of the electric vehicle (EV) technology transfer program, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) will be one of the partners receiving two of the most modern EV models currently available being the VF7 and VF9 from VinFast. These vehicles will be integrated into teaching and research activities to enhance training capacity and promote scientific research in the field of electric vehicle technology.

After more than a month of vibrant competition through multiple intense rounds, the 1st “Automation Machine Design” Competition organized by the SMAE has officially come to an end. This competition was not only a platform for students to leave a mark of their professional knowledge but also a showcase of their creativity and dedication.

In accordance with the cooperation agreement signed between Hanoi University of Industry and Beijing Jingdiao Group Vietnam Co., Ltd., on the morning of December 20th, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry organized the reception and inauguration ceremony of the 5-axis CNC Machine Room. This facility is a component of the Research and Talent Training Cooperation Program between the two parties, aimed at enhancing the quality of education and applied research in advanced technologies.

With the goal of attracting excellent international students to postgraduate programs (focusing on STEM, semiconductors, and technology), on the morning of December 9th, 2025, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) organized an introduction session for the INTENSE Taiwan (China) Scholarship to help final-year students across various majors access the program.

On the afternoon of December 10, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) hosted a solemn ceremony to announce the Decision to confer the title of Associate Professor upon 11 distinguished educators and scientists of the University. This event was particularly momentous, occurring immediately after the University officially transitioned its operating model to the “Hanoi University of Industry” system by the Prime Minister's decision , further highlighting the high caliber of its faculty and the growing stature of an institution rapidly ascending to a major university system.

With the aim of supporting students access the labor market and find suitable job positions, while also introducing internship programs combined with research for graduation projects and recruiting positions at enterprises, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering organized the “Career Counseling and Recruitment Workshop for Students.” This year’s workshop attracted the interest and participation of more than 1.500 students and featured 20 exhibition booths from enterprises offering internship consultation and recruiting students while they are still pursuing their studies at the University.

In the context of the manufacturing industry's urgent demand for high-quality human resources, on the morning of November 4, 2025, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) officially received a sponsorship from Coretech System Co., Ltd., consisting of 75 licenses of Moldex3D software with a total value of 3.9 million dollars. This is the world's leading software for plastic injection molding simulation and analysis, widely applied in the automotive, aviation, and electronics industries. This sponsorship will assist lecturers, trainees, and students of the School in enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and practice in the field of plastic injection mold design and optimization

On the afternoon of October 17th , 2025, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), Hanoi University of Industry, organized the Conference of class monitors and secretaries of Youth Union branches for the 2025-2026 academic year. The conference was held with the objective of summarizing and evaluating student affairs and Youth Union movements during the 2024-2025 academic year, while simultaneously launching emulation movements for the 2025-2026 academic year. In particular, the conference served as a crucial forum to listen to feedback from learners, aiming to comprehensively improve quality and build a positive culture of conduct within the university environment.

On the evening of October 4, 2025, the "SMAE’s 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival" took place in the bustling atmosphere of the A12 building courtyard. Hosted by the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), this colorful, warm, and meaningful event was dedicated to the children of the School's staff. The event not only provided a joyful Mid-Autumn night for the children but also served as a special occasion for the families of the trade union members to interact, connect, and together cultivate a united, humane, and sustainably developing SMAE’s community.

On August 23th, 2025, in the meeting hall on the 4th floor of Building A1, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) successfully held the 2025 Conference of officials and employees. The conference served as a significant milestone for the School's collective to review the achievements of the 2024-2025 academic year and to establish operational directions and strategic vision for the 2025-2026 academic year.

In the joyful atmosphere celebrating the 80th National Day on September 2nd, on the morning of September 4th, 2025, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) burst with excitement during its spirited enrollment day. More than 1500 K20 freshmen have officially joined our common home with positive energy, radiant eyes, and hearts full of aspiration. This is not just the first day of an academic year, but the starting point for a breakthrough journey, where students will conquer knowledge, discover their passions, and build a brilliant future.
