On 6 September 2026, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Hanoi University of Industry, organized the “Citizen–Student Orientation Week” for K21 Freshmen enrolled in its English-Taught programs. This important activity helped students quickly adapt to university life and gain a clear understanding of their academic programs, regulations, and career development pathways in an increasingly international environment.

The program was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, members of the School's Board of Management, heads of academic departments, head of programs, programme coordinators, a representative of the Youth Union, student support specialist, and all K21 freshmen enrolled in the English-taught programs.

Beginning the Learning Journey in an international educational environment

In his welcome address to the Freshmen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung congratulated them on officially becoming members of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering family. He noted that the 2026 academic year marks a new stage in the internationalization of education, as the School's English-Taught programs continue to attract international students from countries such as Mozambique, the Philippines, and Pakistan... Emphasizing the significance of choosing an English-taught program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung noted that it offers students important advantages, including improved foreign-language proficiency, access to advanced technologies, expanded career opportunities, and better preparation for the global labor market. He also affirmed the School's commitment to providing the best possible facilities, faculty, learning environment, and experiential activities to support students' comprehensive development throughout their studies.

As part of the program, representatives of the coordination board and head of programs provided an overview of the curricula, study plans, program outcomes, and learning and career development opportunities available to students. Freshmen were also given detailed guidance on academic regulations, effective university-level study methods, time-management skills, and how to use Hanoi University of Industry's e-university system and online learning platforms. One topic that drew particular interest from students was the advanced educational model that allows the duration of English-taught programs to be reduced from 4 years to 3, enabling students to enter the labor market earlier and gain a competitive advantage.

The atmosphere became lively during the Q&A session between students and the faculty and specialists responsible for the programs. Many questions concerning English-language proficiency requirements, scholarships, opportunities to take part in scientific research, academic exchange programs, and internships and employment at international partner enterprises were answered in detail, helping freshmen feel more confident in planning their studies and personal development from their very first year.
