With the goal of attracting excellent international students to postgraduate programs (focusing on STEM, semiconductors, and technology), on the morning of December 9th , 2025, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) organized an introduction session for the INTENSE Taiwan (China) Scholarship to help final-year students across various majors access the program.

In the context of Hanoi University of Industry entering a new phase of development, the University is honored to become the 12th educational institution approved by the Prime Minister to transform its model into a comprehensive University system. At the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – SMAE’s Rector stated: “SMAE is integral to the formation and development of Hanoi University of Industry. The School cooperates with domestic and international partners to enhance the quality of training and research, aiming to produce engineers and bachelors who are not only professionally solid but also possess a global mindset, adaptability, and the ability to work in multicultural environments. During the seminar, students listened to practical insights from Mr. Nguyen Duc Luan – representative of the INTACT Office. He introduced the INTENSE scholarship program in detail, including free Chinese language classes exclusively for SMAE’s students, while providing a clear overview of the basic steps to build a standout profile. Mr. Luan also shared secrets for successfully obtaining scholarships, emphasizing that achieving a scholarship relies not only on high grades but also on a clear strategy, early preparation, and the convincing demonstration of passion and academic goals through personal essays and recommendation letters. This information opens up opportunities for international study and education for students.

Mr. Truong Van Nam – Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Financial and Banking University (FBU), also brought a realistic and profound perspective on the journey of international integration. He not only shared foundational knowledge but also specifically clarified certain cultural differences between Vietnam and Taiwan. Understanding these differences, from communication styles and working etiquette to codes of conduct, is the key to helping Vietnamese students and engineers work effectively and succeed in a professional environment in Taiwan. Additionally, Mr. Nam offered effective Chinese learning methods specifically for Vietnamese learners, emphasizing the practice of communication and honing Chinese language skills as an essential tool to overcome language and cultural barriers, thereby expanding career and academic opportunities.
