Final Round of the 1st Automation Machine Design Competition of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering
After more than a month of vibrant competition through multiple intense rounds, the 1st “Automation Machine Design” Competition organized by the SMAE has officially come to an end. This competition was not only a platform for students to leave a mark of their professional knowledge but also a showcase of their creativity and dedication.
The competition was conducted through a well-structured series of activities, ranging from the preliminary round and in-depth Mentoring sessions with experts to the final round. Through each stage of the competition, the teams not only refined their technical solutions but also accumulated valuable practical skills.
At the final round of the competition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Rector of the SMAE, emphasized in his remarks that: In the era of Industry 4.0, students not only need to have a solid theoretical foundation but must also master design tools, manufacturing skills, and automation-oriented thinking.
He noted that the SMAE has been increasingly strengthening its connections with domestic and international enterprises, inviting experts and industry representatives to participate in mentoring activities, student guidance, and judging panels for competitions. This approach enables students to become familiar with real-world job requirements while they are still at university. He particularly appreciated the orientation toward developing competition projects into scientific research topics or graduation projects, considering this an effective way for the SMAE to enhance training quality and promote a spirit of innovation throughout the University.
