Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI, and Prof. Jung Jin-taek – Dean of the Graduate School, Hansung University, signed the Memorandum of Understanding

The Memorandum of Understanding lays the foundation for a long-term cooperative relationship between the two institutions, focusing on three key areas:

Training cooperation: Sharing curricula, developing integrated AI human resource training models; establishing student and lecturer exchange programs and promoting joint degree programs.

Consulting and technology transfer: Cooperating in developing AI application consulting models (AI Transformation - AX) for manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam; while laying the groundwork for implementing international research and technology transfer projects.

Institute – School – Enterprise Connectivity: Promoting the organization of annual scientific seminars, establishing a joint academic forum between the two parties, and moving toward the establishment of a cooperation council between the university and the business community.

Immediately after the signing ceremony, the scientific seminar on the theme “Monitoring Production Systems with Artificial Intelligence” took place with a range of academic contents and practical applications.

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering – stated that, in addition to training, the School has consistently promoted research cooperation and technology transfer with reputable domestic and international partners in order to fulfill its mission of serving society. At the same time, the Rector noted that AI, together with technologies such as IoT, Big Data, Cloud Computing, and intelligent robots, is no longer technology of the future but has become a core tool helping enterprises optimize processes, improve productivity, and enhance global competitiveness.

A Series of In-depth Presentations by Korean Experts

At the seminar, experts from Hansung University and Korean technology enterprises shared numerous research findings and practical experiences in implementing AI in manufacturing enterprises.

Prof. Hong Sung-suk (Department of Global AI Management Consulting, Hansung University) presented a paper entitled “Analysis of Successes and Failures in AI Implementation at Small and Medium-sized Machinery Manufacturing Enterprises.” Prof. Hong emphasized that, in addition to applying AI to data analysis and forecasting, human management plays a key role: “AI does not replace human responsibility. Promoting AI development needs to go hand in hand with appropriate processes, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities for personnel.”
