Acceptance of student’s scientific research topics of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering’s students: Creativity and potential for practical application

The annual scientific research student conference at School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), HaUI has long been an intellectual playground, arousing the passion for creativity, helping students get acquainted with the challenges of the research process and discovering new knowledge. Continuing the annual tradition, on May 22nd and on May 31st, SMAE organized the acceptance of scientific research topics with the participation of hundreds of students in the two fields of Mechanics and Automobiles. With the orientation of practical application research, the topics focus on hot issues of the industry, thereby providing solutions to optimize or minimize the impact of the research problem on society.

Speaking at the acceptance ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – SMAE’s Rector emphasized the importance of scientific research in science and technology in general and in the field of Mechanics and Automobiles in particular. Because scientific research topics will be the basis for inventions, innovations, and technological improvements, contributing to improving the quality of life and promoting socio-economic development in the future. For that reason, SMAE always creates all learning conditions to encourage and nurture the passion for scientific research within students.

In recent years, the quality of scientific research projects of SMAE’s has made remarkable progress. Under the dedicated guidance of a team of experienced lecturers, all topics are invested in and seriously researched, focusing on exploiting issues close to reality. This is truly a great opportunity for you to access a source of in-depth knowledge, freely explore and learn new things, scientific advances in the field you are pursuing.

The Council for Acceptance of Scientific Research Topics of SMAE’s students gathers a large number of students to participate

With nearly 150 scientific research papers sent to the council in both the fields of Mechanics and Automobiles, it has demonstrated the unlimited creativity and enthusiasm of SMAE’s students. In particular, the council selected 45 outstanding research topics, with new content and the ability to apply to real life in both the fields of Mechanics and Automobiles to participate in direct criticism before the council. In addition, other topics were also presented in detail in the form of posters, creating a diverse and rich scientific forum.

One of the research topics that was highly appreciated at the acceptance session was the topic: "Research and manufacture of a magnetic polishing machine for titanium alloys for biomedical applications" in the field of Mechanics or the topic "Research on the smoothness of the driver's seat suspension system on passenger cars" conducted by a group of students majoring in Automobile. In addition, some topics also attracted attention and left an impression on students, such as the topic "Research on building a digital twin for mobile robot navigation applications working in indoor environments". All research topics originated from existing problems in daily life, aiming for the benefit of the community and the whole society.

At the acceptance session, students demonstrated their mettle when they confidently stood in front of hundreds of people to present the results of their research, answered critical questions to defend their scientific viewpoints and convinced the council of the superiority and effectiveness of the problem the group was researching.

The success of the acceptance session of scientific research topics of students of the Automotive Engineering Council and Mechanical Engineering Council in the 2024-2025 academic year once again proves that the scientific research movement of SMAE’s students is growing stronger, contributing to affirming the position of the School on the educational map. This is also a solid premise for the School to continue to reap more achievements in the future, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese industry.
