Student from School of Mechanical and Automative Engineering, HaUI Selected to Participate in WorldSkills 2026
The School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), has once again made its mark on the international vocational skills stage, as student Do Van Duc has officially been selected to join Vietnam's national team for WorldSkills 2026.
Having passed through numerous rigorous selection rounds, Do Van Duc (Mechanical Engineering Class 1, K18, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering) was selected as one of only two candidates nationwide to participate in an intensive training program at Denso Vietnam Co., Ltd., with the goal of competing in the CNC Turning skill at the world's largest vocational skills competition.
Behind this proud achievement lie nearly two years of relentless training under the guidance of experienced experts and lecturers. With discipline, meticulous attention to every technical operation, and a strong passion for mechanical engineering, Do Van Duc has steadily demonstrated his professional competence, resilience and ambition to reach international standards. He is not only a source of pride for the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering but also carries the hopes of teachers, friends, and the wider community of students and young people passionate about engineering across the country.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Ngoc – Vice Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI, together with a representative from Phenikaa University, congratulates the two candidates selected to compete at WorldSkills 2026.
The presence of a HaUI student at WorldSkills 2026 further demonstrates the effectiveness of the university and enterprise cooperation model in training high-quality human resources. The support of major enterprises not only gives students access to modern technology and professional working environments but also enables them to develop their professional capabilities in line with international standards.
Do Van Duc's achievement follows the success of alumnus Nguyen Xuan Thai, a graduate of the Mechatronics Engineering Technology program at the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, who won a Silver Medal in CNC Turning at the 2022 WorldSkills Competition. The continued participation of the School's students in Vietnam's national WorldSkills teams affirms the quality of its training and demonstrates their ability to meet the demanding technical standards of leading industrial corporations worldwide.
