Conference on the Summary of Youth Union Works and Youth and Student Movements of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering for the 2024–2025 Academic Year

On November 7, 2025, the Youth Union inter-chapter and the Students’ Union inter-chapter of the School of SMAE successfully organized the Conference on the Summary of Youth Union Works and Youth and Student Movements for the 2024–2025 academic year. The event aimed to review the outcomes of learning, scientific research, and youth movement activities over the past year, while also outlining tasks for the 2025–2026 academic year and honoring outstanding collectives and individuals.

Overview of the event

In his directive remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Secretary of Party Committee of the Sectional - Rector of SMAE emphasized that: “2024 year, the School chose the word “Unity” as its guiding principle - symbolizing solidarity, creativity, and determination to overcome challenges in order to successfully accomplish all strategic objectives. Proud of the 127-year tradition associated with the development of the University, he stressed that each Youth Union member and young person should cherish and promote the School’s strengths: pioneering spirit, creativity, mastery of science and technology, cultivation of ethics and skills, and the dissemination of pride to subsequent generations of students - transforming it into a flame of enthusiasm to continue and further develop the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Tan, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Industry, delivered directive remarks, calling for a focus on key tasks including: strengthening political and ideological education as well as traditional history education through modern methods; proactively orienting and addressing harmful information in cyberspace; continuing to promote STEM education and turning it into an academic “brand” of the School; and further advancing the “Five-Good Student” movement in association with professional skills. He expressed confidence that the SMAE would continue to affirm its leading position in learning, research, movements, and campus culture.

At the conference, Comrade Trinh Đac Phong, Secretary of the Youth Union inter-chapter of the SMAE, presented the summary report on achievements attained. In the 2024–2025 academic year, the Youth Union inter-chapter successfully fulfilled the tasks assigned by the University Youth Union and the Party Committee of the Sectional, achieving numerous accomplishments in key areas such as culture, sports, scientific research, and innovation. Programs were organized in a systematic and professional manner, generating strong impact and outreach. The Youth Union and Student’s Union officials have continued to mature, affirming the role of youth through volunteer movements and contributing to enhancing the organization’s prestige within the University.

A central and meaningful part of the conference was the commendation and recognition of collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in Youth Union works and youth movements. More than 200 exemplary students and outstanding collectives were honored, serving as clear evidence of sustained efforts in learning, training across all areas of activity.

The awarded students are Youth Union members and students with strong professional competence, dynamism, and enthusiasm in Youth Union and Students’ Union activities, while also demonstrating talent and outstanding achievements in academic performance scientific research, Robocon competitions, Olympiads competitions, cultural and artistic activities, and community volunteer work.

With close guidance from higher-level Youth Union organizations, the accompaniment of the University Students’ Union, and the deep concern of the Sectional Party Committee, the conference was held with great success. The achievements of the 2024–2025 academic year have made an important contribution to the successful fulfillment of the political tasks of the SMAE, while also leaving a strong mark on youth and student movements across the University.
