Scientific research methodology training for students of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering in the 2025-2026 academic year

To enhance the quality of student research projects and standardize the implementation process, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, organized a training session on scientific research methodology on January 21st, 2026. This training session attracted a large number of students, offering them the chance to access modern research methods, report-writing skills, scientific paper drafting, and practical insights from an experienced team of experts and lecturers.

The training session was attended by Dr. Nguyen Anh Ngoc – SMAE’s Vice Rector, representatives from the Department of Science and Technology, SMAE’s leaders of various faculties and departments, lecturers, and numerous students currently conducting scientific research projects for the 2025-2026 academic year.

During the professional sharing session, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Khoa – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Automotive Technology, emphasized that scientific research is not just an academic activity but a "real-world project." Through documents review, data analysis, and solving practical problems under the mentorship of lecturers, students have the opportunity to hone systematic thinking and problem-solving skills. He shared key links in the research cycle and noted: "A valuable research project is a synthesis of three elements: Accurate Idea – Logical Design – Appropriate Methodology."

According to Dr. Nguyen Xuan Khoa, scientific research is one of the most effective learning methods, helping students develop critical thinking and independent creativity by delving into documents, exploiting data from international sources, and practicing on experimental models.

At the training session, Dr. Nguyen Huy Kien from the University's Department of Science and Technology presented the objectives, benefits, and implementation procedures for research projects. He also guided students on summarizing reports and the skills required to write scientific papers that meet the University's evaluation standards.
