Team Washy from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Wins Runner-up Prize at the 7th HaUI Entrepreneurship Challenge
After surpassing numerous strong competitors in the preliminary rounds, on the evening of June 10, Team Washy from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering secured the Runner-up Prize in the Final Round of the 7th HaUI Entrepreneurship Challenge organized by Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI). This impressive achievement affirms the creativity, technological competence, and entrepreneurial spirit of students from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.
The Entrepreneurship Challenge is a prestigious annual competition organized by Hanoi University of Industry to inspire innovation, foster a passion for scientific research, and enhance students’ ability to apply knowledge in real-world contexts. This year’s competition attracted nearly 30 projects submissions addressing highly relevant and topical issues. Following the preliminary round, training sessions, and semi-final rounds, the Organizing Committee selected the six most outstanding projects to advance to the final round.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (far right) attended and encouraged the participants at the 7th HaUI Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The final round took place in an exciting, competitive, and emotional atmosphere. A highlight of the final round was the presentation and live defense session before the judging panel. Each team was given 7 minutes to present its project and 8 minutes to respond to questions from experts and entrepreneurs. This challenge required participants to clearly demonstrate their market-oriented thinking, technological solutions, business models, as well as the feasibility and development potential of their projects.

The vibrant atmosphere and enthusiastic support from students provided additional motivation for the competing teams.
With confidence, sharp critical thinking, and a solid foundation of knowledge developed through their studies, Team Washy from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering took full control of every aspect of the competition, convincing the judges through both their presentation and defense performance. The team consisted of four members: Ngo Quang Tien, Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Nguyen Van Dat, and Ngo Dinh Khoi, introduced the LAUNDBOX project, a next-generation distributed laundry and storage infrastructure. The project made a strong impression with its high practicality and innovative approach, combining technology with traditional services.
- A Smart Locker system installed in residential areas enables customers to conveniently drop off and pick up items, saving time.
- A large-scale centralized industrial laundry facility, ensuring consistent service quality and optimized operating costs.
This combination not only enhances user experience but also optimizes operational processes, opening a new direction for the laundry service industry in the context of rapid urbanization. At the conclusion of the competition, the LAUNDBOX project was awarded the Second Prize - by the judging panel, a well-deserved recognition of the students’ efforts, intellect, and creative spirit from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.

The Organizing Committee presented the Second Prize to Team Washy’s LAUNDBOX project from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.
This achievement is not only a source of pride for Team Washy, but also vividly reflects the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering’s practice-oriented training approach and its strong focus on innovation. In addition to equipping students with professional knowledge, the School consistently encourages them to develop entrepreneurial thinking and confidently transform ideas from drawings, prototype models into business solutions that create value for society.
The 7th HaUI Entrepreneurship Challenge has come to a close, but the journey of Team Washy and the LAUNDBOX project has only just begun. Building on this achievement, the project is expected to continue to be refined and developed, with the potential to establish a strong position in the market in the near future.
Congratulations to Team Washy! May you continue to nurture your passion, strive for greater achievements, and achieve even greater success on your journey of learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
