On January 30st, 2026, PhD Candidate Nguyen Hong Tien successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in Mechanical Engineering. The research results were highly appreciated by the Dissertation Evaluation Committee for their scientific and practical value.

To enhance the quality of student research projects and standardize the implementation process, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, organized a training session on scientific research methodology on January 21st, 2026. This training session attracted a large number of students, offering them the chance to access modern research methods, report-writing skills, scientific paper drafting, and practical insights from an experienced team of experts and lecturers.

In the early days of 2026, the Robotics team from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) marked a proud new milestone for Vietnamese Robotics. Competing against many formidable opponents in the Philippines, the HaUI team proved their mettle as the sole representative of Vietnam at the regional VEX-U Robotics Competition 2026.

Within the framework of the electric vehicle (EV) technology transfer program, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) will be one of the partners receiving two of the most modern EV models currently available being the VF7 and VF9 from VinFast. On the afternoon of December 25th, 2025, at School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) – Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), a PhD dissertation seminar was held for PhD student Khuat Duc Duong. The dissertation is titled: "Static, dynamic analysis and structural optimization of Micro-sized doubly curved shells with variable mechanical properties." The seminar was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Bong from HaUI, with the participation of numerous scientists and experts from within and outside the university.

In accordance with the cooperation agreement signed between Hanoi University of Industry and Beijing Jingdiao Group Vietnam Co., Ltd., on the morning of December 20th, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry organized the reception and inauguration ceremony of the 5-axis CNC Machine Room. This facility is a component of the Research and Talent Training Cooperation Program between the two parties, aimed at enhancing the quality of education and applied research in advanced technologies.
