On the morning of 03/22/2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) officially opened the 2026 School-level Mechanics Olympiad, a competition that attracted a large number of students to participate across 6 examination subjects. This is a stepping stone for the faculty and students of the University to advance to the national arena, affirming the intellect and resilience of HaUI students.

This year's competition organized by the University attracted a large number of students registering to participate in preparation across 06 examination subjects: Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Theory of Mechanisms and Machines, Machine Elements, Hydraulics, and Computer Applications in Machine Elements.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 School-level Mechanics Olympiad

At the opening ceremony of the 2026 School-Level Mechanics Olympiad, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, emphasized the vision of Hanoi University of Industry toward 2035 to become an innovation-oriented university ranked among the top 400 universities in Asia, in addition, the University is positioned among the leading prestigious public technical universities in Vietnam, ranking in the Top 15–20 best universities nationwide according to the VNUR 2026 rankings. Currently, HaUI is highly regarded for the quality of its engineering education, with particular strength in the fields of mechanical engineering and technology.

In pursuit of this vision, faculty and students of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI have continuously innovated curricula and teaching methodologies, developed a highly experienced faculty, invested in modern facilities, with the aim of educating global citizens. Over the years, HaUI students have made their mark in international competitions such as the Shell Eco-marathon, VEX-U Robotics, and the National Mechanics Olympiad.

Year after year, the Mechanics Olympiad team of Hanoi University of Industry has consistently achieved remarkable results. In 2025, the University's Mechanics Olympiad team won 1 Second Prize in the team category and 26 individual prizes, including the championship title in the Theory of Mechanisms and Machines subject. These achievements are not merely figures but also reflect the students’ efforts and passion, the dedication of the faculty members, and in particular the close guidance and oversight of the Board of Directors of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, as well as the support and favorable conditions provided by the University's Board of Management.

At the event, student Pham Thu Ha –Mechatronics Class 2, Cohort 17 of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, representing the students participating in the School-Level Mechanics Olympiad, stated: after a period of diligent study and preparation, together with the dedication and enthusiasm of the instructors involved in training and the close attention of the University’s Board of Management, the competition teams have now selected their most outstanding members to participate in the 2026 School-Level Mechanics Olympiad. Speaking on behalf of all participating students, Thu Ha pledged to make full use of all knowledge and skills acquired in order to achieve the best possible results, to be mentally well-prepared, and to represent the University at the 2026 National Mechanics Olympiad, held at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

HaUI consistently implements practical policies to encourage talent development. Students achieving First, Second, and Third Prizes at the school level are awarded appropriate rewards in accordance with regulations. In particular, the academic training policy which prioritizes examination exemptions or grade bonuses for outstanding participants serves as an important leverage, enabling students to engage in a professional academic playground while ensuring an optimal study pathway.
