Conference of officials and employees of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering: Innovation and Creativity in the Industry 4.0 Era

On August 23th, 2025, in the meeting hall on the 4th floor of Building A1, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) successfully held the 2025 Conference of officials and employees. The conference served as a significant milestone for the School's collective to review the achievements of the 2024-2025 academic year and to establish operational directions and strategic vision for the 2025-2026 academic year.

With the participation of over 120 officials and employees, along with the attendance and guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hong Quan – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong – Vice Rector, Chairman of the University's Trade Union, the Conference was conducted in a democratic and open atmosphere. The Presidium of the Conference included:

1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – Secretary of the Sub-Party Committee, SMAE’s Rector

2. Dr. Nguyen Anh Ngoc – Deputy Secretary of the Sub-Party Committee, SMAE’s Vice Rector

3. MSc. Tran Thi Thu Thuy – Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Deputy Head of the SMAE’s General Administrative Office.

The summary report for the 2024-2025 academic year, presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung - Secretary of the Sub-Party Committee, SMAE’s Rector, highlighted the School's achievements. Undergraduate and postgraduate enrollment targets were met, demonstrating the School's appeal and reputation in the field of engineering and technology training.

Furthermore, enrollment and communication activities were implemented synchronously and diversely, from participating in enrollment counseling in provinces and cities, and organizing welcome receptions for student delegations visiting the School, to the effective use of digital media channels such as Facebook, Zalo, Tiktok, etc. Notably, the School successfully organized community service activities and transferred STEM technology to high schools, affirming its role and social responsibility.

Looking ahead to the 2025-2026 academic year, SMAE has identified breakthrough strategic goals. The School will continue to promote solutions to improve the quality of human resource training, develop curricula that meet market demands, especially by expanding English-taught programs and international joint training programs. Innovation, quality assurance, and accreditation according to national and international standards are always top priorities. In addition, communication and enrollment counseling will also be a special focus for the School in the coming time.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector and Chairman of the University's Trade Union, praised the efforts and achievements of all SMAE’s staff and lecturers in the 2024-2025 academic year. He also emphasized the strategic vision for the upcoming period, in which each individual needs to become an ambassador, actively participating in counseling and enrollment activities to spread the core values of the majors and training programs to learners and society. At the same time, he affirmed that training quality must always be the top priority. This requires the entire school to focus on enhancing content, updating curricula, innovating teaching methods, and applying standardized assessment methods. The goal is to build an innovative and creative educational environment that trains a high-quality workforce to meet the developmental needs of society.

The conference featured many discussions contributing positive solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of the School's work. Presentations included: "Building an academic and scientific research culture among lecturers and students associated with academic integrity" by Dr. Duong Van Thiet – Lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Systems, and "Building a positive, cohesive, and creative working environment at SMAE" by Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Member of the Trade Union Committee of SMAE.

Under the direction of the presidium, the conference proceeded to elect delegates to attend the university-level conference of officials and employees. With high consensus, the Conference passed the Resolution for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Resolution clearly demonstrates the determination to build on past achievements and to unite in striving to successfully implement the political tasks assigned to SMAE by the Party Committee and the University.

With continuous companionship and effort, the School will rise to new heights, actively contributing to the overall development of Hanoi University of Industry.
