School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering’s working visit with VinFast: Opportunities for sustainable cooperation

In an effort of constant connection, exchange and seek cooperation opportunities with large scale Vietnamese enterprises, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering organized a field trip and actual survey at Vinfast Trading and Production Joint Stock Company. This working visit took place on November 7th, 2024, opening the door for the common development of both sides.

This is a valuable opportunity for the staff of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering to access the most modern production line and advanced technology of the Vietnamese automobile industry, as well as to exchange and learn practical experiences from leading experts of VinFast. The working visit not only contributes to improve the professional knowledge for the staff and lecturers but also serves as a solid bridge for close cooperation to create together the future for the country's automobile industry.

At the working session, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Hoang Tien Dung - Rector of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, shared about the school's strategic vision in the era of globalization. He emphasized that the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering has constantly improved its training programs, creating conditions for lecturers and students to participate in field trips to businesses, supporting internship and jobs for students. The goal is to equip students with the best luggage to confidently step out into the world and become active global citizens.

During this visit, staff and lecturers of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering had the opportunity to listen to the representative of Vinfast sharing about the company’s impressive journey of establishment and development. From bold pioneering steps, Vinfast has achieved resounding success, quickly becoming one of the domestic car manufacturers with the largest market share in Vietnam. With high-quality cars, modern design and contiuous technological improvement, Vinfast has affirmed its position in the automotive industry, bringing the pride to the country. This working session provided with comprehensive and in – depth vision about the strategy and the aspiration to reach international standards as well as Vinfast’s remarkable progress on the path to conquer the global market.

The two sides agreed to sign a comprehensive and sustainable cooperation agreement to link teaching and training with business production practices at enterprises and improve the effectiveness of cooperation with partner enterprises.

This working session was a great success with both sides agreeing on the program content and signing a cooperation agreement on training human resources for interns and recruiting graduated students. Hopefully, after this meeting, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and VinFast Trading and Production Joint Stock Company will further strengthen cooperation and support each other in the fields of training, research, technology transfer and equipment funding. The school will proactively provide high-quality human resources to meet the needs of VinFast, while VinFast will also create conditions for internship, apprenticeship and jobs for students. This cooperation will be a solid stepping stone, contributing to promoting the common development of both sides.

The working visit brought practical experience and valuable knowledge for the delegation of the School and Automotive Engineering.
