Organization of seminar about “Technological innovation and development of sustainable research groups” in School of Mechanical and Automotive Enineering

In order to provide information on legal regulations related to intellectual property rights, helping researchers and related organizations to understand how to protect and exploit intellectual property rights; School of Mechanical and Automotive Enineering (SMAE) organized a seminar on "Technological innovation and development of sustainable research groups " on the morning of March 26th , 2025. The event is a forum for experts and scientists to share experiences, best practices and challenges in protecting intellectual property rights.

At the beginning of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Rector of the SMAE, emphasized the important role of technological innovation in the development of science and innovation in Vietnam. He affirmed that intellectual property rights are a key factor promoting innovation in research and technology development. However, lecturers and researchers have not paid much attention to related legal regulations. Through the seminar, he hopes that lecturers and researchers will find solutions to protect and promote the value of intellectual property, contributing to the sustainable development of science and technology in Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen Trong Hieu, Director of the Institute of Invention and Technology Exploitation, Ministry of Science and Technology, expressed his impression of the modern facilities of SMAE. He highly appreciated the achievements that the school has made in training and scientific research, and commented that the current development model of the school is in line with the trend of the world's leading technical universities.

Dr. Nguyen Trong Hieu, Director of the Institute of Invention and Technology Exploitation, Ministry of Science and Technology, presented in detail the current legal regulations related to intellectual property rights, including patents, industrial designs, trademarks, and copyrights.

Following that, Dr. Do Duc Nam, Deputy Director of the Institute of Patent Research and Technology Exploitation, shared practical experiences in protecting and exploiting intellectual property rights, from the registration process to product commercialization. He emphasized that intellectual property rights not only promote research and innovation but also contribute to increasing the value of material and spiritual assets for society. In addition, protecting intellectual property rights helps prevent infringements such as piracy, thereby encouraging investment and technology transfer.

Dr. Nguyen Duc Cong, Director of the Center for Technology Simulation and Product Development - Institute for Research on Invention and Technology Exploitation - Ministry of Science and Technology, provided useful information on the process of registering, protecting and exploiting intellectual property rights. He also guided on how to look up information and carry out procedures for registering industrial property rights, while pointing out the challenges in protecting intellectual property rights in the digital age and proposing solutions to overcome them.

Dr. Nguyen Hoang - Lecturer, Head of a strong research group at the University of Mining and Geology discussed strategies to build and develop strong research groups with the topic: "Practical experience and successful lessons".

In addition, Dr. Nguyen Hoang, Senior Lecturer, Head of a Strong Research Group at the University of Mining and Geology, shared his experience on strategies for building and developing strong research groups. He emphasized the importance of facilitating research, enhancing cooperation and encouraging innovation through practical lessons and successful models.
