Conference of class monitors and secretaries of Youth Union branches at the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering: Putting students at the center, listening for innovation and development

On the afternoon of October 17th , 2025, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE), Hanoi University of Industry, organized the Conference of class monitors and secretaries of Youth Union branches for the 2025-2026 academic year. The conference was held with the objective of summarizing and evaluating student affairs and Youth Union movements during the 2024-2025 academic year, while simultaneously launching emulation movements for the 2025-2026 academic year. In particular, the conference served as a crucial forum to listen to feedback from learners, aiming to comprehensively improve quality and build a positive culture of conduct within the university environment.

In an open and constructive atmosphere, the conference recorded practical contributions from representatives of the Youth Union branches. This feedback clearly demonstrated the sense of responsibility and the strong attachment of students to the School.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung – SMAE’s Rector, expressed his appreciation for the sincere sharing and the trust that students have placed in the School. "Compliments regarding the faculty, the learning environment, the dedication, and the positive changes of the School... serve as a tremendous source of encouragement, energizing lecturers to continue their dedication," he stated. These words of praise will be conveyed to each lecturer, so they know that their silent contributions are being seen, understood, and cherished by the students. The Rector also affirmed: "Your frank and practical suggestions are an important basis for the School to continue perfecting itself, constantly improving training quality, and innovating service work." He candidly acknowledged that while some issues can be resolved immediately, others require coordination among various departments, more time, resources, and especially the companionship of the students themselves. However, the consistent message is that SMAE is always ready to listen, values all feedback, and strives tirelessly to build a learning, research, and training environment with students that is increasingly higher in quality, more modern, and more humane.

During the conference, Mr. Trinh Dac Phong – Secretary of the School’s Youth Union, provided a detailed summary of academic results, scientific research, as well as Youth Union and Student Association activities for the 2024-2025 academic year. He also announced the plan and key events for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Student representatives from various Youth Union branches also spoke directly, offering specific and practical suggestions.

With 127 years of establishment and development, SMAE continues to affirm its reputation and training quality through the success of generations of alumni, the trust of industry partners, and recognition in prestigious rankings.

Concluding the conference, SMAE calls upon every student to continue nurturing the core values that shape the School's identity. These values are rooted in a comprehensive educational philosophy aimed at the harmonious development of "Heart – Body – Mind," in which "Heart" represents moral qualities, serving as the primary value and the foundation for each individual's development. Students are encouraged to become active ambassadors, spreading pride and contributing to affirming the position and elevating the brand value SMAE through their efforts in study, research, and community service.
